Concord, Ontario September 16, 2003 – Willow Printing Group makes a claim few family businesses can. On Thursday October 16, 2003 they will be celebrating running a successful commercial printing business for fifty years and three generations. Willow Printing Group has invited employees past and present, their families, clients, suppliers and industry peers, to the “Bellagio Event Venue” in Vaughan for an evening of awards, dedications, and of course food, fun and entertainment.
“Half a century in business is a huge milestone and even more so when you have managed to keep it in the family for all that time. We have grown from a storefront print shop, to a multi-shift prepress, press room and finishing operation. From a 1200 square foot facility employing three, to a modern state of the art, 22,000 square foot building, with over 30 print professionals. We have dealt with an extremely competitive industry, several downturns in the economy and rapid advances in technology. We feel this is the right time to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way.” said Jeff Ekstein President and CEO of Willow Printing Group.
“Ink on paper” has been Willow’s livelihood and passion but they have always kept a close eye on their clients’ needs and developed services accordingly. Some recently acquired business solutions include; Computer to Plate (CTP), a process which guarantees improved quality and saves clients both time and money, and a ROOM aka “Rip Once Output Many” workflow software which provides clients a predictable outcome by automating preflight and trapping processes and outputting several types of production files simultaneously. They recently purchased a Heidelberg Speed Master 102 FP (P) 40-inch press with double perfecting capabilities (printing on both sides of the paper at once).
The Eksteins also want to give back to the graphic arts and printing community by making a scholarship donation to the Canadian Printing Industries Scholarships Trust Fund (CPISTP) which assists some of Canada’s best and brightest to prepare for careers in the graphic arts and printing industry. Over 87% of scholarships this year were awarded to Ryerson University students, the school that Lew Ekstein attended and Willow Printing Group has supported with donations.
Willow Printing Group – Beyond Print is committed to innovation in both client service and technology by offering a full spectrum of communication services. They have the technical expertise, business acumen and creative muscle to deliver results.
